ROAD CONDITIONS:

SEBASTIEN LOEB / DANIEL ELENA (CITROEN)
“We have no problem with the conditions. The ground is the same as last year.”

TONI GARDEMEISTER / JAKKE HONKANEN (FORD)
“On stage two we had two punctures, one tyre started to go soft and this affected the handling. I did not have full confidence for stage 3.”

PETTER SOLBERG / PHIL MILLS (SUBARU)
Deliberately chose a "not perfect" tyre as they are saving the best tyres for later in the rally where they feel it will be more important.

HARRI ROVANPERA / RISTO PIETLAINEN (MITSUBISHI)
Had some brake problems and chose tyres to save the best ones for later in the rally.

DANIEL CARLSSON / MATTIA ANDERSSON (SUBARU)
"It is difficult to discover the maximum capability of the Subaru. We are not driving on the edge and we are just getting a feeling for the car."

GIGI GALLI / GUIDO D’AMORE (MITSUBISHI)
“We had a problem with the brakes but this did not seem to affect our stage times.”

ARMIN SCHWARZ / KLAUS WICHA (SKODA)
No problems to report.

TOBIAS JOHANSSON / KAJ LINDSTROM (SUBARU)
Drove carefully on stage two and on stage three got a little better.

FUMIO NUTAHARA / SATOSHI HAYASHI (MITSUBISHI)
The steering column became loose on stage three.

XAVIER PONS / ORIOL JULIA (MITSUBISHI)
Had a puncture on stage two and changed it in the stage.

KARAMJIT SINGH / JOHN BENNIE (PROTON)
“We are down on power but we have no specific problems.”

MARK HIGGINS / TREVOR AGNEW (SUBARU)
Caught car 42 on both stages.

AKI TEISKONEN / MIIKA TEISKONEN (SUBARU)
“We have had no problems.”

LUIS ROSSELOT / RICARDO ROJAS (MITSUBISHI)
“We suffered a lot on the first stage with a bad suspension set up. I had a bad feeling on stage three.”

MARKO MARTIN / MICHAEL PARK (PEUGEOT)
There are some patches of mud left but they are starting to dry as predicted. There are some ruts but not a lot.

CARLOS SAINZ / MARC MARTI (CITROEN)
Had two punctures on SS2.

ROMAN KRESTA / JAN MOZNY (FORD)
“We had two punctures on stage two”

MARCUS GRONHOLM / TIMO RAUTIAINEN (PEUGEOT)
“I am not feeling completely confident. We have made no mistakes and no wrong choices but something ýs not feeling right.”

HENNING SOLBERG / CATO MENKERUD (FORD)
“At the end of the stage we only had the hand brake for brakes!”

CHRIS ATKINSON / GLENN MACNEALL (SUBARU)
Entered the service park on three wheels, having lost the left rear wheel in the previous stage. The Subaru team made a decision to withdrawal Atkinson from the event because of the damage done to the fuel pump. He will restart the rally tomorrow under SuperRally regulations.

ANTHONY WARMBOLD / MICHAEL ORR (FORD)
Three punctures on the first stage but the mousse worked.

JANNE TUOHINO / MIKKO MARKKULA (SKODA)
Lost the brakes two kilometres into the start of stage two. Did not feel very well due to an upset stomach.

FEDERICO VILLAGRA / JAVIER VILLAGRA (MITSUBISHI)
“The engine is running on two cylinders.”

TOSHIHIRO ARAI / TONY SIRCOMBE (SUBARU)
“It has been a good morning. We took a risk on the tyres and chose one for drier conditions. It was a risk but we got away with it.”

MARCOS LIGATO / RUBEN GARCIA (SUBARU)
Elected to use the K tyre which is more suited for wetter conditions and this choice did not pay off.

ANGELO MEDEGHINI / BARBARA CAPOFERRI (MITSUBISHI)
“We have no specific problems but the set up is not perfect.”

GABRIEL POZZO / DANIEL STILLO
“We have had problems with the brakes.”

HAMED AL WAHAIBI / DAVID SENIOR (SUBARU)
“We had problems with the brakes. The callipers are leaking.”

NATALIE BARRATT / CARL WILLIAMSON (MITSUBISHI)
“Everything is okay.”

SEBASTIEN BELTRAN / EDGAR GALINDO (SUBARU)
“We had no problems. The main thing here is to get some experience.”
