| The 7th leg of 2005 FIA World Rally
Championship, Rally Of Turkey, which is organized
by Turkish Automobile and Motorsports Federation
starts the summer season as the first great international
organization of Turkey, this year.
Turkey, with this organization, will be the guest
to 186 country’s television once again, while
the best drivers and teams of the world will be
our guest in Antalya and Kemer between 02-05 June,
2005. At the same time, as it was last season,
it is expected that total of 70 million TV audience
will be focusing on this event. At this Meditterranean
Riviera, the ones who are already on holiday will
have a different choice and a chance to watch
this high-adrenaline sports organization.
The official Rally HQ of this season is The Grand
Haber Hotel/Kemer. The brand new hotel, which
started to be in service last year, will be the
Rally HQ for the coming 3 years and will be the
first time to wellcome the guests in a huge organization
like this.
Rally Of Turkey will start at Thursdayi 02 June
2005 at 18:50. with the SSS in Akdeniz University,
which was built last year. With a change, this
year the SSS will meet with the rally fans during
three days, (including Friday and Saturday). During
the SSS, the most enjoyable part of the rally;
cars will start side by side as pairs, while the
spectators will have the chance to watch the race
from different grandstands which they will get
the highest pleasure. After the SSS on Thursday,
the real challenge will start with the special
stages on the mountain roads of Kemer and Kumluca
at Friday, 03 June. The rally will last 3 full
days and finish at Sunday, 05 June 2005 at 13:00
in Kemer Service Park.
This year, Rally Of Turkey will be run on 3 legs
and 10 sections which consists of 885 kms normal
and 350 kms special stages. 18 special stage will
be held in the race, made up of 9 different stages.
( SSS, Phaselis, Arykanda, Perge, Myra, Kemer,
Silyon, Chimera, Olympos)
PWRC at Turkey...
This season, instead of JWRC, another championship
will be held in the Rally Of Turkey, as known
PWRC, the advanced Group N cars mostly made by
Subaru and Mitsubishi. The PWRC championship is
totally made up of 8 legs which the drivers have
a right to choose 6 of them to compete. This season,
all of 21 PWRC drivers announced that they will
at the start of Rally of Turkey. Also, even there
is no chance to get any points for their target,
the leader of JWRC championship, Suzuki Team is
expected to compete in Turkey.
Service Park is in Kemer Again
The Service Park, which all the repairs of the
rally cars carried out, will take place in Kemer
again. This area is one of the perfect places
for the spectators to feel the unique atmosphere
of the rally sport. Also, with the stands, shops,
promotions, hospitality services and various activities,
Service Park, which turns Kemer into a rally town
during the event, is the heart of the organization.
We inform you not to miss the event, 6 well known
manufacturers teams to take part in Antalya (Peugeot,
Ford, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Citroen and Skoda),
each car of whom is worth approximately 400.000$.
They will challenge among themselves with the
accompaniment of historical and natural beauty
of Kemer for 1/10 seconds.
In 2005 season, the interest shown by the spectators
is very high. Except the reservations from the
countries like Japan and Finland, there are associations
which include Rally Of Turkey to their motivation
programs and distributer meetings.

WRC and Rally Of Turkey, As a Summary
Turkey has become a candidate for WRC in 2000.
After continuous success for three years, Turkey
joined the WRC calendar in 2003. The first ever
Rally Of Turkey of WRC, was held in Antalya between
27 February - 2 March 2003 helped the advertisement
of our country with great success. In 2003, The
Rally Of Turkey, which was won by Carlos Sainz-Marc
Marti of Citroen, broadcasted 169 hours and reached
71 million spectators from 186 country.
Between 24-27 June 2004, Turkey hosted WRC for
the second time. This time, the rally was
held in summer, contributed to tourism much more.
Nearly 350 journalist observed the rally, which
at the finish Sebastien Loeb-Daniel Elena (Citroen)
were standing on the top of the podium and people
all around the world witnessed the success of
Turkey again.
